Administrators' Message

November 19th

Dear Sandymount Families ~

Thank you to the families who scheduled and attended parent-teacher conferences this week. We greatly appreciate your involvement in supporting your child(ren). Research confirms that home-school collaboration leads to improved student achievement, better behavior, higher self-confidence and more positive attitudes toward school and learning. Our next parent-teacher conference date is on Monday, November 22 from 4:30-8:00 pm. All teachers have a 30-minute dinner break beginning at 5:30 pm. Teachers are making their best effort to start and end conferences on time. Due to filled conference times, most teachers are unavailable to meet with you before or after your scheduled time. Please assist us in remaining on schedule by arriving on time to your conference.

Happy Thanksgiving! We wish you and your family a happy, healthy, and memorable Thanksgiving this year.

Friendly Reminders From The Office Staff

Absence Notes

Thank you for submitting absence notes to the SESattendance email. We ask that you kindly remember to:

  • include the student name in the email
  • include the teacher name in the email
  • include the reason for the absence (in order to code the absence correctly) If you just report that the student "absent today", the absence will be coded as unexcused.
  • if illness, for COVID purposes and Health Suite calls, please include symptoms

Thank you for helping us keep your student file as accurate as possible.

Dismissal Change Reminders

If you need to change your daily student’s dismissal, please send a note with your child to school in the morning. For security and safety purposes, the school cannot accept a phone call asking for a dismissal change. Of course, in the event of a true emergency, we will assist you any way we can. The office is a busy place at the end of the day. Our goal is to keep your child safe and unexpected, last minute changes create unnecessary havoc.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation.

Lost & Found

Is your child missing articles of clothing? If so, they may be in our lost and found area. Please have your child check the lost and found that is located near Mr. Chuck's office. Parents, if you are in for conferences on Monday, please feel free to stop the lost and found!

Cold Weather and Recess

Colder weather is here! Students will go outside for recess as long as the temperature is 32 degrees and above. The instructional assistants would like to remind students to bring proper clothes for recess. (coats, hats and gloves are very important) If a student wears a coat to school you should also wear a coat outside for recess.

Employment Opportunities

Did you know that our school has employment opportunities currently available? Please consider contacting Stacy Kowaleviocz at for more details on available position(s). Interested applicants are asked to also visit the Employment Opportunities section of the CCPS website, as they must complete a CCPS employment application to be fully considered for positions. The CCPS Department of Human Resources manages this process and is the only office authorized to make official employment offers once the school completes interviews and all required documentation is finalized. Please share this information with family and friends who may be interested in employment. Thank you for your continued support of our school community.
