The importance of Oral Health
By: Sara & Linus
Why is Oral Health important?
Oral Health is a lot more important then you might think it is. Oral Health contributes to your smile, your eating and many other important things. Good oral and dental hygiene can help prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease, and can help you keep your teeth as you get older.
Avoiding sugary foods such as candy or coffee with sugar in it will even help your teeth stay whiter. Coffee can even ruin the effects of teeth whitening if you get it professionally done.
Brushing your teeth at least twice a day will reduce the risk of cavities and plaque buildup
Using fluoride toothpaste and even drinking water with fluoride in it can reduce the risk of cavities
What would happen if I don't have good Oral Health?
Not only would your teeth be affected, but your gums can get infected, and even parts of your body such as your heart can be affected too.
Things to avoid
-Things like oral piercings can chip your teeth, cause infection, or even cause nerve damage
-Not brushing your teeth, especially at night, can cause plaque buildup
-Drinking coffee can stain teeth whitening, or just plain out stain your teeth!
