Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
Jacob King, Instructor, Humanities with the Division of Arts and Sciences will be the Master of Ceremony at the Inaugural Hispanic Poets “Open Mic” event. Members of the Rhodes State Campus community are invited to join in the celebration from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. in the Galvin Hall Commons. Refreshments will be served!

Each year the Latino Affairs Commission provides the Latino Community Report designed to educate and facilitate discussion on challenges and opportunities facing Hispanic Ohioans. Come Join Us!

Mobile Produce Market Bus Stop on Lima Campus!
TThe Mobile Produce Market will begin making regular stops on campus starting Fri., Oct. 9, 2015. Students, faculty, staff and interested community members will be able to purchase fresh, affordable produce right on campus. The bus will be parked in front of Galvin Hall from 9:45-10:45 a.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of the month and from 2-3 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays.
Everyone in the area is welcome to buy from the Mobile Produce Market. There are no income requirements. The types of produce changes seasonally, but will always be fresh and affordable.
The Mobile Produce Market is the latest addition to a growing culture of healthy living on campus. The campus cafeteria is Activate Allen County certified. Campus groups for students and employees such as Healthy Buckeyes and the Wellness Innovators have led initiatives that have resulted in healthy choices in the vending machines and at meetings. The Student Wellness Center and the Office of Student Activities also promote health with programming that zeroes in on positive food, emotional and physical choices.
The Market is a partnership between the West Ohio Food Bank, Activate Allen County, the Lima Family YMCA and local businesses that help fund the operation.

If you have an interested in trying out for the 2016 Barons Golf Team this spring, you can play a FREE round of golf at Hawthorne Hills Golf Course. You will be able to play on October 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9, but only one round of golf. All you have to do is show your student ID card from either Rhodes State College or Ohio State Lima.
Please stop in at the pro shop when you arrive so you can put your name, e-mail and phone number on a sign-up sheet Jim Maley (Golf Coach) can contact you about trying out for Baron Golf Team next spring.
You might want to call ahead to make a tee-time at the Pro Shop (419)221-1891. Hawthorne Hills is located at 1000 East Fetter Road. This is a great opportunity to play a free round of golf.
