Principal Update

Dear Parent(s), Guardian(s), & Students,

The end of the 3rd quarter is just a few weeks away and spring will be coming.

Thank you for continuing to read together and to review those math facts at home as often as you can. We sure love watching our students reach their goals and next learning milestones every day. It takes a team but most importantly, we are simply so proud of our students!

Congratulations to our Idaho Honor Choir Kids!

This past fall, many of our 4th and 5th grade students auditioned for the Idaho All-State Elementary Choir. Seven of our 4th grade students were selected and participated in The Idaho All-State Elementary Choir performance in Nampa at the Brandt Auditorium at Northwest Nazarene University on Friday, January 31st. Mr. Vance is one of our music teachers at Barbara Morgan Elementary School who not only helped to organize this opportunity but also provided weekly instruction to the selected students.

Congratulations to Violet, Madilyn, Genevieve, Grace, Casey, Eila, and Nelson for earning a spot in this wonderful program!

The concert was sponsored by the Idaho American Choral Directors Association and Idaho Music Educators Association.

Our students sang five songs along with the other 125 elementary choir students selected. They combined with the Idaho All-State Middle School Choir for their final song. This is the first time in recent history that our BRMES students have participated. We are so proud of them.

Hands Free School Zone

Hello parents,

Please remind yourself not to text while driving. You might be wondering why? Texting while driving can cause lots of injures, because drivers don't pay attention to the road, especially in the Barbara Morgan School parking lot.

Please put down your phones when at the school, at pick up and drop off times and when kids are present.

Kids Heart Challenge

We are participating in the The Kids Heart Challenge, formally know as Jump Rope for Heart. This is done through the American Heart Association and promotes learning the importance of heart health while being physically active jumping rope. Students will participate in a jump roping program during P.E. class with Mr. Jeffries during the coming weeks. Our students will be invited to help others and raise funds to help children with special hearts. The program will kick off during P.E. the week of March 9 - 13 and run through spring break. Anyone participating in the donation section will have until March 31st to turn in the donations. More information will go home with the students during the week of March 9.

Roaring Reader Forms (due by March 19th)

Students can earn a one day ticket to Roaring Springs in Meridian if they complete the reading challenge and turn it into their teacher by Thursday, March 19th. Ask your child's teacher if you need a replacement form.
