Note from Mrs. Bland
This week we have been putting the final touches on our procedures for student in-person learning. We are excited that on the 28th of September we will have our first and 2nd grade classrooms in school.
We continue to look at our procedures to ensure that our school community is safe as we participate with in-person learning. Our 3rd and 4th grade students will start the following week on October 5th!
Before you continue reading please watch this video about our pick-up and drop off procedures. You can also access the video in Spanish.
If you have questions in regards to our rolling re-entry please visit our district website.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Bland
IN-PERSON PROCEDURES-This has been updated!
As we transition to in-person learning there are a few procedures that we would like our families to help with. Please remember to be patient and parents must remain in their cars.
MORNING ARRIVAL
CAR RIDERS
-Please have your child’s lanyard on and signed. Students need to have their lanyard signed for entrance into the school.
-Please pull all the way forward to allow for a continuous flow of cars.
-Parents will need to remain in their car when their student(s) exit the vehicle.
-Children need to be ready to exit the vehicle, with their backpack and lunch bag ready when you pull into the parking lot.
-Students must have their mask on when exiting the vehicle.
-All students will have their temperatures checked and will sanitize their hands upon entry.
-We ask that students remain an airplane arms length away from others.
BUS RIDERS
-Students riding the bus will have an assigned seat the entire year.
-Students must wear their mask on the bus.
-Students will have their temps taken prior to entering the building.
-Students will sanitize their hands prior to entering the building.
-Students must wear their lanyards and staff will ensure there is a parent signature on the card inside the lanyard.
DISMISSAL
-Students will begin dismissing at a staggered time to ensure social distancing.
-Students will load buses and sit in their assigned seats.
-Students that walk home or ride their bikes will be dismissed at 2:25.
-Parents will pull their cars up in the car line, and remain in their vehicle.
-Staff will be holding the QR code for you to scan.
-Parents will scan the QR code when they arrive to the parent pick-up area and fill out a google form on their device.
-Once students are safely loaded into the car, parents may pull-out of the car line safely.
If you have children that overlap with other grades pick one drop off/pick up location. We do not recommend that parents park their cars and walk their children to the school. If you must do this you need to wear a mask and please swiftly walk your child to a paw print and continue to walk to your car.

All buses are deep-cleaned nightly, with the same antiviral used inside the school buildings.

Rules for optimal airflow in the buses have been put in place.
Temperatures will be taken enroute, where possible, or at school before entering the building.
Bus capacity has been reduced to <45 passengers per bus, more stringent than state recommendations.
Seats have been assigned based on stop order (first students to board, walk all the way to the back) to minimize cross traffic and to maintain social distancing.

Assigned seats will be strictly enforced by the driver.
Eating/drinking on the bus is PROHIBITED.

Meal Delivery Schedule-All Children Eat Free
On August 31, 2020, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that all school meals for children will be free through December 2020. Because of this announcement, school meals will no longer be charged to a student’s account. All meals will be free to any child under the age of 18, regardless of ability to pay. Children do not need to be present for a parent to pick-up a meal.
Meals are delivered to select locations Monday-Friday.
We know that many of our students are dependent on school meals for nourishment, and in the interest of ensuring this need continues to be met while District 15 schools are closed due to COVID19, we have established a schedule for food distribution.
District 15 will deliver food every day, Monday-Friday, through December 2020.
- Lunch and breakfast for the following day will be offered daily.
- Menus and Meal Distribution Locations can be found HERE.
Instructions for picking up food are as follows:
- In every location look for the District 15 bus for food delivery (*except where noted).
- Students do not need to be present in order for a parent to pick-up a meal.
For questions on the menu, please call 847-963-3928. For questions on transportation, please call 847-963-3909 or 3912
