Principal Ponderings: Bring It!
The Leadership Matters course that I am in is the tenth cohort and now each one has a slogan or phrase to go along with it. Paying homage to Tony Horton and P90X, our slogan is Bring It! with an X to represent the number 10. When I think of that phrase, "Bring it!", I am reminded of a question that one of our keynote speakers at the MEMSPA conference, Jimmy Casas, asked.
Why doesn't school in February look like school in September?
Excellent question with some easy answers, but none of them worth their weight in salt. I need to bring it by being in classrooms more (sans computer) to continuously see the great work that you all do on a daily basis. I need to bring it by building upon relationships with students and staff. Relationships built on trust allow people to show vulnerability and grow into their best selves. I need to also remind myself to practice self-care so that those that are counting on me at school and at home are getting the best of me.
What's one way you can bring it to make February look more like September?

Two Resources Worth Sharing
