Kleckner's Korner
May 24, 2021
Thank you!
Special shout out to Jocelyn and Grace for getting accommodations, schedules and buckets ready this week! You guys are ROCKSTAARS!
Microscopes
Set your mind to be ready to think about groups and talk about schedules. I hear even the first unit of the math curriculum is up and IPCs could be planned for those of you adventurous enough to look at gaps via the learning continuum and/or STAAR!
PLCs

May 25th Faculty Meeting and June 8th 1/2 day Staff Development - Campus Needs Assessment
It's that time of year to reflect on what our data is telling us and evaluate our Campus Needs. Our May 11 faculty meeting has been set aside for committees to work on the Questions for Consideration and the strength/needs statements. We will meet on our PLC Google Meet and then I'll set up break out rooms.

Career Dress Up Days - ENGLISH
End of Year Device Return
Here is a list of all of the technology checked out to our students. At the bottom are tabs by grade level. Unfortunately, it does not pull lists by homerooms so students are organized by last name but I’ve created a column for those of you who want to label them.
PreK-2 – some of your students have a hotspot, chromebook AND an IPAD. Please, please, start getting your face to face students devices back from them and left here at school.
When students bring their hotspots please send them to Sueli so she can mark them off as returned. IPads and Chromebooks need to be returned to the carts and left there. Sueli will be coming around to classrooms to scanning them back in the last week of school.
For students that cannot decide if they want to be remote or face to face (GRRR) I would err on the side of remote and let them keep their devices – at least they are logging in at home for attendance…
All Face to Face students should have devices on campus by June 1st.
Jests from Jana!
Prodigy, Imagine Learning and Education Galaxy all have reports that can help you decide where to go these last few weeks to fill in gaps. Let me know if you have questions about accessing data for your students.
Imagine Math EOY benchmarks are available. Please make sure you activate these tests and allow students time to complete them before end of year. It will help in placement next year!
Substance from Selena....
DRA Reminders:
Here is link to the data sheet; please send it to me as soon as you have it completed. If you have any questions about levels for remote students, let me know, and we can meet. We will use their MAP scores. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14E5o_Uuto7iaHmTPZQeHQDzhIeApy1JDm-oFyobsUDY/copy
Teachers will record only 3 points for each student:
1. In-person or Remote
2. Independent Reading Level
3. Fiction/Nonfiction (for in-person students only)
For some fun, educational science lessons the next few weeks, the Perot Museum has these bilingual lessons and videos:
The Whynauts are here and la aventura te espera/adventure awaits! Bring the wonders of the Perot Museum to your classroom and discover North Texas through this interactive, educational series. Each episode is a brief (less than 15 minutes), immersive experience, with accompanying hands-on learning activities students can do to continue exploring!
¡Conoce a Los Whynauts! / Meet The Whynauts!
Join in this bilingual learning experience with tres amigos/three friends on a mission to learn as much as possible by asking questions, making connections, and divirtiéndose/having fun!

ENotes from Esther
Reminders:
May 1069's will be due on May 21st, please be sure to have this completed on time as I will need to have them printed and filed by May 25th.
As we are in our last days weeks of MAP testing please continue to use the link to help manage your student's testing status and add any notes needed.
