MASK REMINDERS
As we continue to require masks for students, please remember the following:
It’s a good idea to wash your child’s mask frequently, ideally daily if possible.
Please ensure that your child has a few masks to rotate throughout the average school week
Please send an extra mask in your child’s backpack in the event they need another mask
When choosing masks for your child, please look for masks that have 2 or more layers of breathable fabric, cover their nose and mouth, fit snugly across the sides of their face, and don’t have gaps.
If you need help with getting additional masks, please contact the school’s main office.
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As we enter this week of Thanksgiving and we prepare to take a brief break from learning at school, I want to share a message of gratitude with all of you! Parents and Caregivers, please know the work you are doing to support your children’s learning both at school and at home is greatly appreciated. Following up on homework, sitting with your child to support and encourage them, reading aloud and along with your reader, listening to challenges with friends, will pay off! For the families who have had to juggle schedules, find alternate care plans, take time off from work to care for or support learners at home during a quarantine-thank you. This is an incredibly challenging time. I see-and the staff-see all you are doing to support and care for ALL the children. I am truly thankful for YOU!
Tuesday!-Busy day at Ben Franklin!!! Seymour the Saber visits, 11:30-1:15! Students are encouraged to wear yellow and black or Ben Franklin Spirit Wear!
We will also be having a Ben Assembly, 2:30-3:30 Our theme is centered around kindness towards others and of course gratitude.
Safety Reminder-When dropping off your child in the morning, please park your car and walk WITH your child through the crosswalk. Traffic coming through the driveway can cause an unsafe situation for our children and adult supervision will decrease the possibility of an accident. If this is not possible, please use the North Driveway to drive through and drop your child off curbside, please see this document for a map and directions.
As always, have a safe Thanksgiving break, continue to be vigilant with safety protocols for your family so we can all return to school on November 30th!
Sincerely,
Mary Shannon
Ben Franklin Principal
