CB South Athletics
Golf
Senior Kevin Anthony and sophomore Lizzie Palmieri qualified for the Eastern PA Regional golf tournament this past Monday at Golden Oaks golf course in Fleetwood, PA. They played through cold and windy conditions unlike anything they have seen throughout the golf season so far. Kevin Anthony’s consistent play and excellent course management saw him through to the state championships which will take place on Monday, October 23rd and Tuesday, October 24th at Heritage Hills Golf course in York, PA. He is the second CB South golfer to make it to the state championship finals and one of 24 golfers who qualified from the eastern part of the state. Congratulations to Lizzie Palmieri for competing in two days of district competition and in regionals.
Cross Country
CB South XC Team begins its post-season competitions on Friday, October 20th at Lehigh University for the League Championships. GOOD LUCK TITANS!
Girls' Tennis
Abby Caddick and Mia Groetsch will play in the PIAA District One Girls Tennis Doubles Tournament on Friday, October 20th.
Girls' Soccer
The CB South Lady Titans suffered a tough 2-0 loss against North Penn on Monday, October 16th. South had offensive pressure in the second half by Brooke Steigerwalt and Aleksa Peev but the team could not find the back of the net. Goalkeeper Maddie McShane had 5 saves to keep South in the game.
CB South rebounded on Wednesday, October 18th and beat sister school CB East 1-0. It was a see saw battle the first half but the Lady Titans came alive in the second half with tremendous offensive pressure by Aleksa Peev, Brooke Steigerwalt, Grace Tecce and Chelsea Nichols. Brooke Steigerwalt had the game winner following a feed from defender Morgan Hilton. Mackenzie Ehresman held the middle and kicked a ball of the goal line to preserve the win.
Boys' Soccer
Congratulations to the Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team for their 2nd Victory of the week with a 3-0 win over West Chester Rustin. Kyle Bethel scored in the 11th minute on an assist from Ryan Rieber. Bethel and Rieber connected a second time in the 49th minute. In the 70th minute, Justin Rieber scored to close out the match. Goalkeeper Gavin Campbell earned his 2nd shutout of the season along with a fantastic defensive back four play consisting of Corey Bethel, Tate Pfendner, Kyle Bethel and Drew Daley.
The Titans lost two difficult matches this week, a 2-1 defeat to first place North Penn (goal scored by Dillon Lamb) and a 1-0 OT loss to CB East on October 18th. The South Soccer team closes out the season hosting defending state champions and number one ranked team in PA, Conestoga on Thursday, October 19th at 4 PM.
Football
Our 7-2 Titans are traveling to Pennridge on Friday, October 20th at 7pm. Please come out and support the team!
Girls Volleyball
The CB South Girls' Volleyball Team finishes off their regular season going 2-1 this week and 13-9 overall. Big wins against Bensalem on senior night and Pennridge on the team's Dig Pink night helped to hopefully push them into the playoffs.
At Tuesday's Dig Pink Event, the team raised $4,000 for the SideOut Foundation. The SideOut Foundation raises awareness and helps donate to find a cure for Breast Cancer.
