Wheelchair Basketball Event is Thursday, October 6!
Kutz is hosting a wheelchair basketball event on Thursday, October 6, 2022 beginning at 6:00 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM) at CB West. Ticket sales are live on My Payments Plus (now through 10/3)! During this event Kutz staff members will be versing Kutz students involved in the We All Wheel program at the YMCA in basketball and all players will be in wheelchairs. Spectator tickets for this fun event can be purchased on MPP for $6 each or $10 each at the door the night of the event. Food/beverages will also be sold at this event. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
During halftime of the game (around 7:00 PM), we plan to randomly select some additional Kutz students to try out the wheelchairs. This will only be for Kutz students that complete a waiver form prior to the event. The waiver form can be found through My Payments Plus. If you would like your child to be entered into this drawing to possibly experience wheelchair basketball, please read and complete the waiver form in MPP.
This event is in honor of Dominic Liples, a former Kutz student that passed away in 2016 because of brain cancer. All proceeds from this event will be donated in Dominic's name to his hero fund associated with the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Raising funds for research on childhood cancer is so important and your attendance and donation to this cause is much appreciated.
We hope you can join us for this awesome event!

Calling All Cougars!
Would you like your child to give back to Kutz and the greater community? Are you interested in getting involved at Kutz alongside your child?
The Kutz service organization, Cougars For A Cause, is currently accepting new members. Our organization works to improve our school and community through service activities such as food drives for local food banks, making blankets for children in need, beautifying Kutz grounds through landscaping and planting projects, and assisting with special school events such as the Spring Fair and a Wheelchair Basketball game for pediatric brain cancer.
Joining Cougars For A Cause (C4AC) is not a significant time commitment as participation is primarily limited to the actual service project/event. Our organization welcomes members from Kindergarten to 6th, there is a role for everyone. Parent participation (clearances are obligatory) is welcome at most events, but not always necessary.
Our first event is fast approaching on October 6th when we will provide support for the Wheelchair Basketball game of Kutz Students vs. Teachers at C.B. West.
To have your child join Cougars For A Cause, please email Adrienne (Charlotte - 2nd grade) at:Adrienne.metta@gmail.com

Sponsors Needed!
Dear Parents,
We are four weeks away from our fundraising kick off date. We have big, but hopeful goals of raising $25,000! But wait, there’s more…
Kutz is so excited to launch our first ever Fun Run Tee Shirt Sponsorship Program! Through the program, we will provide a tee shirt to every student on our event day. We are hoping to partner with business owners within our Kutz community to help sponsor these shirts. Our goal is to cover 100% of the shirt costs. Your business name will be displayed on the back of the shirt and worn by every student in our school. Not only will your support be incredibly helpful to Kutz, but it will enable us to support your business as a community.
If you know of, or are part of a business that would be interested in becoming a Kutz Fun Run Shirt Sponsor, please fill out the bottom portion of this paper. We need a commitment from all sponsors by 9/26 in order to supply all our students with a shirt.
Thank you in advance for supporting this new component of our fundraising efforts. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Laphen at either heatherlaphen@hotmail.com or 215-350-9357.
Thank you,
Kutz Fundraising Committee

Laptop Breakage
We have seen a rise in the amount of screen breaks for student laptops. Our policy covers for 2 broken screens per device. If your child’s laptop screen breaks 3 times, we will be required to send you an invoice for the repair and labor. The current cost for this is $200. Please remind your child to care for their laptops. Some simple steps to assist are:
- Use two hands when holding or moving the device.
- Use clean hands while using the laptop or iPad.
- Use only the provided digital pen or finger on the screen.
- Use only the power adapter that came with the device.
- Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen.
- Keep device stored in the provided case. This includes traveling through the hallways, on buses, or anytime the device is not being utilized. Students should not be using the devices on the bus.
- Make sure nothing is on the keyboard, close the lid, and remove all cables if any are plugged into the laptop. Place laptop in your bag carefully.
- Be careful when placing your case on the floor. Keep the device off the floor so screens do not get stepped on by others.

Devices for 22-23 School Year

Community Opportunities
Pine2Pink is a non-profit dedicated to helping local breast cancer patients and prides itself on being innovative and finding ways to inspire people of all ages to support people in need.
Pine2Pink is in its fifth season and has helped over 1000 local breast cancer patients raising over a quarter of a million dollars.
This year they've created a fun event called "TP My House," where the founder is allowing the kids in Doylestown to donate $5 and bring their own TP to toilet paper his property. Evolution Candy will be there and School of Rock will be playing in his driveway. The event is sanctioned by the Doylestown Township Police. (see the flyer above)
"I like to find ways to inspire young people to help the greater good and give back in unique ways. I dreamt this up as a way to allow kids to have harmless fun all in the name of charity. On the surface, doing something silly like TP'ing my house, will actually create an end result where money is raised and local breast cancer patients will benefit. " Shares Keith Fenimore Founder of Pine2Pink.
