Martin Luther King - I Have A Dream Speech - August 28, 1963

What Will We Be Learning This Week?

Math

We will be continuing Unit 5 in Math Expressions, which covers fractions, decimals, and probability.

We will not have Accelerated Math this week, except for students who have a 0% in any previous AM assignments for the quarter.

Language Arts

We will spend much of next week reviewing science during our Language Arts class.

We will not be having Words Their Way spelling lists due to the short week.

Social Studies

We will be viewing and discussing Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream Speech," and learning about the Civil Rights Movement.

We will not be completing a USA Studies Weekly assignment this week. Instead, students should use the time studying for the science test.

Science

We will be completing our Forces & Motion Unit this week and taking the test on Friday. Students should be reviewing the study guide every night for 20 minutes.

Here is the unit study guide for your reference:

Odds and Ends

Grades

Teachers have been asked to have all grades input in our grade book by Wednesday of next week, even though the second quarter does not end until Friday. This means that the Forces & Motion Unit Test that we are taking Friday and several other grades will not count toward the second quarter but will instead be counted as third quarter assignments.
