December 2022 District Newsletter

π¬ A Message from our Superintendent π¬
Dear Hingham School Community,
As we head off into the winter break and welcome in 2023, it is a time of reflection and gratitude for all who support our students and families every single day.
We have so much to continue to celebrate as our students and staff continue to return to learning this school year. Our teachers, staff, and administrators each and every day work tirelessly to support, love, and care for our young people. The theme of our strategic plan, βHingham Together,β is exemplified in our schools and classrooms as we strive to ensure academic excellence and belonging for all.
As a reminder, our schools will be closed at the end of the school day on Friday, December 23rd. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Tuesday, January 3rd.
When we return from break in January, we will begin the next fiscal year of 2024 budget process. We are committed to keeping the community informed as the town discusses the need for an operational override in order to support the town and school budget. Future updates will include detailed information on the budget.
We remain deeply committed to the continued physical and mental health of our community. Please continue to observe COVID-19 and illness awareness and prevention strategies through the winter break. In the past few weeks, the schools have also shared resources for mental health including a referral service through Care Solace. We wish to continue to support the safety and wellness of all in our community during the winter break.
I am deeply honored to be your superintendent and look forward to all that we will continue to accomplish together in the second half of our school year. Best wishes to all and your families for a happy holiday season and restful winter break.
Yours Truly,
Dr. Margaret Adams
