Weekly Update

Strive Center for Autism - May 7, 2021

Happy Mother's Day

We want to wish a happy mother's day to all of our amazing moms - the ones who share their children with us every day, the ones who come to work here with these amazing children, the grandmothers and all the extra caregivers who help us all keep it all together! Thanks moms!

And an extra special happy mother's day to our own Nahemae, Registered Behavior Technician in Burton. Nahemae, her husband, and her young son welcomed their newest addition over the weekend - another little boy! Mom and baby are doing well, and are home with the family. We are so happy for them, and wishing the whole family a little rest this Mother's Day weekend!

BHCOE Accreditation Update

We are awaiting the results for our Behavioral Health Center of Excellence accreditation, and the evaluators have reached out to us to explain that the last component needed to finalize our results is interviews with families and staff. If you have been contacted by the BHCOE, please consider responding for an interview. The interviews are relatively short in length, and are a necessary component for the BHCOE to confirm some of the details we've shared with them. Thank you for your help!

Update on Lunch Tracking

As most of you know, we have been reporting in the daily note on what your child eats each day for snack and lunch. We will stop including that information in the daily note going forward, and will instead simply inform you if there are any items in the lunch that your child just won't eat. We will send home leftovers whenever practical, so you'll be able to see how much is left each day. If you send something that can't easily be sent home (like Easy Mac that's prepared in a bowl without a lid) we'll put a note in your child's lunch box if he DOESN'T eat it. Otherwise, you can assume that your child ate what you sent, since we don't provide additional food.
