The SPCA needs help in order to do their wonderful work caring for homeless dogs and cats. Crozet Elementary School Leadership Club is sponsoring a drive to collect items for our local SPCA. Please consider sending in what you can. I will be sending a follow up email with an attachment showing what supplies are needed at the SPCA. Thank you!

Wednesday, January 20th

We used the laptops today to listen to stories. The website is www.storylineonline.net. The children explored stories read aloud by different actors. Some of there favorites were Rainbow Fish, Library Lion, Stella Luna and Enemy Pie. Check out the website at home!

Thursday, January 21st

Today the students listened to The Mitten by Jan Brett. They then sewed their own mittens, colored and cut out the animals and practiced retelling the story. We also read The Mitten by Alvin Tressalt. We compared and contrasted the stories and voted on which one we enjoyed the most!

Thursday, January 28th

During math time, we made shape collages. The children chose to work on a mural of the city, a farm or the ocean. They had a lot of fun creating animals, buildings, cars, trees, etc out of different shapes. Next week, we will be exploring solid shapes!

Friday, January 29th

The children explored solids and liquids today by making oobleck. We mixed cornstarch, water and food coloring together to make the oobleck. The children had a lot of fun mixing, touching and discovering if they thought the oobleck was a solid or a liquid! Don't be surprised if they want to make it at home!

Wacky Tacky Day!
