Sending Transcripts

Many colleges require you to send your official transcript to them when you apply for admission. An official transcript must be sent from the counseling center. After you submit your application to a college, fill out the transcript request form and return it to the counseling center. Transcript request forms are found in the counseling center or on the college planning website. You can list as many colleges as you have applied to on the same form. If you are 18, you do not need your parent's signature. Once the 1st form is turned in, you just have to come in and tell us any colleges you want to add and we will send the transcript.

Some colleges use an online system like SENDedu. They will have you grant us permission to upload your transcript to their system. You will have to give them your counselor's email address:

Applied Technology Career Day

NHS will be taking a bus to the event. If you are interested in going please fill out the application and parent permission form and return it to the counseling center by Oct 2nd. Students will learn about these different career areas and see current tools, techniques, and technologies.

Programs Include: Auto Body, Automotive Technology, Building Construction,

Diesel Ag & Truck, Drafting, Electrical Construction and Control, Electromechanical, HVAC Maufacturing Generalist, Utility Line, Welding, and Wind Energy

Wendy's High School Heisman

  • Wendy's is looking for the next class of remarkable students who excel in academics, athletics, and community involvement to apply for the Wendy's High School Heisman award. National winners will receive $10,000 for their high school, $500 Wendy's gift card, and recognition during ESPN's national telecast of the college Heisman Memorial Trophy. One male and one female will be selected and recognized at Norfolk Senior High School. To be eligible, student's must have maintained a "B" GPA, participated in one sport, and demonstrated involvement in his or her community. Apply at by Oct. 3rd. PEO Star Scholarship

The PEO STAR Scholarship is a $2500.00 scholarship for graduating senior women. Qualifications for the scholarship include:

  • Excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service, and potential for future success
  • Is in the senior year of her secondary education and is 20 years of age or under by November 30, 2015.
  • Has a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or Canada
  • Plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the US or Canada, full-time or part-time, in the fall of the academic year following high school graduation
Applications are available in the Counseling Center and are due by Oct. 3rd.

Hearst Foundation Scholarship

Juniors and Seniors can apply for the Hearst Foundation Scholarship Program and be awarded a $5000 scholarship and a chance to go to Washington DC as a delegate. Students are required to be currently serving in an elected or appointed in any one of the following student government, civic or educational organizations: class president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer, student body president, vice president, secretary or treasurer, student council representative, or student representative elected or appointed to a district, regional or state-level civic and/or educational organization approved by the state selection administrator.
