STAAR Reminders
STAAR REMINDERS
During state testing visitor/volunteer access is extremely limited. Parents will not be able to access any instructional or testing area in the building.
Fourth and fifth grade students will take the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) beginning this week. The testing days are below:
Tuesday, April 10th: Grade 4 Writing & Grade 5 Math
Wednesday, April 11th: Grade 5 Reading
If you have a student in 4th or 5th grade, please refrain from scheduling doctor appointments that will require your student to be pulled out of class on scheduled testing days.
STAAR testing will continue in mid-May for 5th, 4th, and 3rd. Don't start vacations early! We need your students in attendance on their scheduled test days.
FREE BREAKFAST FOR ALL STUDENTS ON TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY
Nothing prepares students better for testing than a healthy, satisfying breakfast! On our upcoming testing days breakfast is FREE to ALL students! Students can start their day off right with a delicious meal in the cafeteria.

Kindergarten Registration Continues...
Parents can continue to register new kindergarten students for the 2018-2019 school year. To expedite registration parents may pre-register online. Once pre-registered, drop in at the campus during office hours with the required documents, listed below, to complete your student’s registration process. Parents need to bring the following documents when registering:
- Proof of residence within the district (contract on the house, lease agreement, actual title to a house, current RRISD tax statement, or current utility bill indicating the address and the adult’s name.)
- Child’s official birth certificate,
- Child’s immunization record (see requirements),
- Child’s social security card (preferred but will not prevent enrollment).
LEOPARDS Trait for April
A disciplined person exhibits self-control and can work in a systematic and orderly way.
Campus Reminders
Absences due to Illness: Please send in a parent's or doctor's note within 48 hours of the absence.
Parking Lot One-Way Entrance: We recently made adjustments in the front parking lot to help with the traffic flow during arrival and dismissal. When you enter the lot you must turn right and continue around the loop to access parking. There are approximately 100 parking spots available for visitors and you will be asked to continue driving through the lot until you see an empty spot. Please do not stop traffic by waiting for a preferred spot. We also designated eight spots in the front for office/school staff. We have more teachers and staff than we have parking for in the faculty parking lot, so this was a necessary step. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Traffic and Parking: Obey all posted traffic signs on roadways including the no-parking signs posted in front of the school on Pearson Ranch Rd. Please don't try to make your own short-cuts to avoid school traffic, for example dropping your students off in the middle of the parking lot or road, etc. Please help your students stay safe by teaching them to walk in the protected crosswalks to cross the roads rather than darting across traffic and in between cars. Give yourself plenty of time and exercise patience. Safety, not speed, is the priority. It only takes a small error in judgment to make a life-altering mistake.
Walkers and Bike-Riders: We have been excited to see the numbers of walkers and bike-riders increase. Keep it up!
Arrival and Dismissal: Thank you for assisting with any measures we put in place to ensure the safety and security of your children. Please notify me when you spot areas of concern that need to be addressed.
