September Edition
Happenings
The school year has gotten off to a great start in the library. For the month of September, fifteen teachers scheduled to use the library this month. All ELA classes have rotated through the library and now every student should have a book to read. Please encourage a student to silently read after completing their class work. FYI the library is closed on Monday mornings due to Campus Life needing the space and on Thursdays the library is closed during 3rd and 6th periods, so that I can attend the 6th grade ELA PLC and the 8th grade History PLC.

Database Tips
Did you know that Discovery Education (aka United Streaming) link is available on the https://mynisd.nisd.net/SitePages/Home.aspx.? Discovery Education provides videos, images, sound files, lessons, and activities for all subject areas. You can create quick lists, assignments, etc. See me if you or your department would like to schedule a training session.
The databases are available 24/7 and can be accessed from home. See me for the user ID and password for home access. Databases provide users with current and factual information, images, and videos. If you would like training on how to use any of the databases or to collaborate on a lesson, please feel free to contact me, I would be happy to help.
