October Update!
Throughout the past month, all K5-2nd grade students were administered the DIBELS Next Reading Assessment. All students in grades 3-5 were administered the CDT in Literature and enVision Mathematics assessments. All data gathered from these assessments are used to guide instruction, form small-group instruction, flexible intervention groups, and set learning goals.
As always, communication is important. Please do not hesitate to contact a principal, school counselor, or teacher with any questions or concerns. You are a valued member of the Northwest Community, and we look forward to continuing to working with you throughout the school year.
Thank you,
Northwest Administration
Principal, Mr. Neil Young, nyoung@lebanon.k12.pa.us
Assistant Principal, Mrs. Jennifer Nordall, jnordall@lebanon.k12.pa.us
Home Reading begins Monday, October 17!
This year, your child will be doing lots of reading in school and at home. Students who read for one hour every day, from books they can read and want to read, have a much better chance for success in school and beyond. We need your help in building your child’s independent reading stamina! Every night your child will read books, have their reading folder, and a log sheet in a blue book bag. We are requesting your support in making at home reading fun by doing these five actions each day with your child.
Books foster knowledge within our children and knowledge is power! Thank you for being a partner with us in your child’s education!

Address or Phone Number Changes
It is a recommended procedure by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that, in the event of a change of address, confirmation of the new address is required before information can be updated/changed. Confirmation of address may include a utility bill or a copy of the lease. If you are residing with someone else, we will provide you with a Residency Affidavit that will need to be signed and notarized.
Please submit all information regarding address changes to the Northwest Office. Accurate information on your child is vital in the event of an emergency! Office personnel will be happy to assist with any questions you may have at 717-270-6800.
