Tchaikovsky: The Unlikely Music Legend
Tchikovsky composed Romeo and Juliet in 1870 which did not gain popularity until many years later. He then composed his first piano concerto in 1873, and the well known Swan Lake in 1877. These pieces also did not get off to a good start when released and were only acknowledged for the brilliant pieces they were some time afterwards. His perhaps most famous piece, 1812 Overture, was composed in 1880 as part of the celebrations for Russia's defeat of Napoleon. Unfortunately, in 1893, Piotr Ilych Tchaikovsky passed away.
