Noon Year's Eve Party

We had our first ever Noon Year's Eve party, and it was loads of fun for everyone involved. Thank you to our teen volunteers, who gave up part of their Saturday to help out, and to the families who came to the event. We had a craft, minute-to-win-it challenges, a photo booth and our very own ball drop! Thanks again to everyone involved.

Director's Note

Saturday, February 11th is the date of the 2nd annual Murder Mystery Dinner hosted by the Friends of the Carlisle Library. This year’s dinner is titled ‘Magic and Mystery’ and is Harry Potter inspired! So brush off that witch or wizard costume and sign up soon before all the spots are taken! This will make a fantastic Valentine’s date though coming with friends or solo would be great too! There will be plenty of magical fun for everyone- and no you do not have to dress up. The Friends group promises me that I don’t have to know everything about Harry Potter though a little knowledge could be helpful. This is an adult only event since alcohol will be served. The Friends raise money to purchase items for the library that are above and beyond the normal library budget. We are so grateful to have them support the library and we love all their fun events!

Please also mark your calendars that the library will be closed on Friday, February 10th for staff training. Staff will be networking and training at the Urbandale library alongside over 100 other metro area librarians! An international speaker will be sharing her insight into the world of public service. I was part of the group that worked hard to make this training day happen and I am excited that all of the staff get to be part of this exciting day!
