Electric Motors + Generators

What are Electric Motors?

An electric motor is an electric machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

A generator is a dynamo or similar machine for converting mechanical energy into electricity.

Who invented it?

Michael Faraday was the founder of all electric motors. He built two devices to produce what he called electromagnetic rotation: that is a continuous circular motion from the circular magnetic force around a wire. Ten years later, in 1831, he began his great series of experiments in which he discovered electromagnetic induction. These experiments form the basis of modern electromagnetic technology.

What does it works with?

In normal motoring mode, most electric motors operate through the interaction between an electric motor's magnetic field and winding currents to generate force within the motor.
