Message from Principal Fitzgerald
Thursday began with a heavy downpour during arrival time, causing concern among parents and staff as the Character Parade was slated to kick off around 7:45 am. However, just as we embarked on our march, the rain miraculously ceased, allowing us to proceed with our plans. We paraded through the hallways and outside under the awning, with a sea of parents lining up on either side. It was a promising start to what would turn out to be a memorable day.
Just as the morning was a success, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect Thursday evening. The rain subsided, and the clouds gracefully made way just in time for our dedicated PTA volunteers to commence their setup for Trunk or Treat. Much like last year, this event exceeded expectations. The parking lot was brimming with students and families, all of whom seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves.
As I strolled through the event, savoring each moment, I couldn't help but feel profoundly grateful to be part of a community that embraces the spirit of togetherness. The sight of students laughing while engaged in games, dancing with the Vista Ridge Star Steppers, having their faces adorned with paint by middle and high school Leader ISD students, trying their hand at axe throwing, and enjoying numerous other activities filled my heart with warmth. The delectable offerings from Libby's Lunchbox food truck did not disappoint. Rumor has it that Nicky even negotiated for staff to receive a banana pudding treat in the future.
Events of this caliber would be impossible without the unwavering support and leadership of our incredible PTA and its dedicated volunteers. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Nicky Monahan, Paul and Laura Furiani, Allison Waage, Jackie Gordon, Corey Flowers, Saeeda Buzzeo, Brie Brehn, and Ana Giles for orchestrating and executing a spectacular evening. Furthermore, we extend our gratitude to Katrina and David Parker for their assistance in dismantling everything after the event.
Our Annual Character Parade was A Wicked Success!
