CLASSROOM NEWS!

KINDERGARTEN - Students are working on using phonics to sound out words, writing their letters, and creating sentences (take a look at the picture below).

1ST GRADE - 1st Graders are working on being word detectives and looking closely at the endings of words; breaking hard/tricky words apart to be able to solve them. They are also working on math story problems with missing addends. Also, in Science students are learning about air temperature and thermometers.

2ND GRADE - This Thursday students were treated to a virtual field trip through SC Johnson. Students watched a grade-appropriate version of the opera, "La Boheme", presented by the Florentine Opera's touring troupe. Students are also learning about non-fiction texts in Reading as well as studying measurement in Math Never a dull moment in second grade!

3RD GRADE - Students are really pushing hard to reach their Math goal of becoming fluent in their multiplication facts.

4TH GRADE - 4th Graders just finished up their unit on extreme weather. This was, by far, their favorite unit.

WELCOME ALICE!

2nd Grade welcomed their new class pet, Alice this week. She is a lovely betta fish. The kids were so excited when Alice was caught exploring her new pineapple!
