A Reminder About School Dress Code

As the new semester gets into full swing, we feel the need to remind Bulldog families of a few items of note in the MISD Student Handbook under "Dress and Grooming".

  • Clothing will not be worn if primarily designed as sleepwear (blankets are designed for the bed and should be left at home)
  • Shirts must cover the midriff in a normal standing, sitting, or moving position
  • Shorts/skirts must be mid-thigh or longer when standing
  • Shoes must be designed to be primarily worn outside the home and must not be house shoes or slippers
  • Students must have no visible body piercings other than earrings. Prohibited body piercings include, but are not limited to, nose rings or facial piercings of any type.
  • Hats may not be worn in the building
  • Hair will be of a natural hair color

To view the MISD dress code in its entirety, please follow this link or view pages 45-47 of the student handbook found on the district website.

Big picture
Please consider joining us on February 21st, 2022 from 10 to 1 for a COLOR RUN. Colors4Carson is a 5K Color Fun Run designed to help raise funding for pediatric cancer research and to celebrate the life of MHS Bulldog Carson Thelen. This run is being hosted by the MHS Chick-Fil-A (Student Led) Leadership Academy, MHS Student Council, and the MHS Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Students of the Year. If you are interested in participating in the race, please view the information below. Additionally, vendors are being called upon to make this a full scale community event with food trucks, music, and an auction. We need your help! Anyone interested in participating as a vendor at this event can find that information below as well.

Google Educational Accounts - PSA

As educational institutions must follow the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA), Google has educational restrictions on email accounts for students in kindergarten - 12th-grade. How this applies to Magnolia ISD is that Google prohibits the use of educational Google account (@mymisd.org) for use outside of the district.

It is recommended that high school students create a professional non-school-related email account that can be used for outside educational purposes. (We recommend Google as it allows for easy transfer of items from their school Google Drive to their personal Google Drive, upon graduation.) For example, if you have a student applying for scholarships using their @mymisd.org Google account, the information that is transmitted will not be sent and/or received.
