Pre-First News
September 15, 2016
We had a great week in Pre-First! During assembly we learned about Ruth, Boaz, and how Jesus is our Kinsman Redeemer. We enjoyed tasting different varieties of apples and then graphed our favorites. Sour Granny Smith was the favorite! We also made our own chunky applesauce. During math we used several different manipulatives to learn new concepts. In Language Arts we practiced letter sounds, making words and reading Bob books.
Friday at home work:
1. Math - complete 17B.
2. Read aloud together for 15 minutes each day. Record in their Passport.
3. Have your child illustrate and retell How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World in their Retelling Journal.
Coming up next Week:
Math: We will divide a solid in half, picture and combine sets, write addition number sentences and represent equivalent forms of the same number.
Language Arts: We will continue to practice our reading skills.
Galloping the Globe: We will gallop to one of my favorite places, CHINA!
Please contact me with any questions or concerns. It is a privilege to teach your children. Blessings in Christ, Mrs. Spitler
