Girls and Boys Basketball Square Off Against Jarrell
This Thursday, The Lady Vikings hosted Blanco.
7th Grade Blue Team played tough and every week they improve. They did lose to Jarrell 14-28. Every week these ladies improve and they really worked the offense and defense seamlessly. Emily Caperton scored 2 points, had 2 steals, and 2 defensive rebounds. Sidney Porter scored 4 points, had 1 defensive rebound, and 1 steal. Sabrina Vaughan had 1 defensive rebound. Anna Magdaleno was the high scorer with 6 points, 1 defensive rebound and 2 steals. Trinity Unbehaun had 1 offensive rebound and 2 steals.
7th Grade Gold Team lost against Jarrell 14-25. Emma Clark had 3 defensive rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Kendall Karg scored 4 points, had 2 defensive rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Reagan Phariss had 2 defensive rebounds. Addison Lockhart was the high scorer scoring 8 points, 4 offensive rebounds, 4 defensive rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. Ariana Steele had 1 offensive rebound, 1 defensive rebound, and 1 block. Cheyenne Hernandez had 1 defensive rebound. Sarah Conine scored 2 points, had 2 offensive rebounds, 1 defensive rebound, and 1 steal.
The B team played an outstanding game! Their strong defense and rebounding created great scoring opportunities. Several of Lago Vista's points were off of steals and breakaway layups. At the half, the Lady Vikings were up 8 to 3 and the girls did not let up during the second half. They kept the pressure on, worked really hard on offense, and took great shots. The final score was 16 to 6. Sam Heibert had 6 points, Jill Jungman and Kayla Rickels each had 4 points, and Maddie Patterson had 2 points. Way to go Lady Vikings!!
The A team had an incredible game! Their strong pressure defense and lights out shooting caused several problems for Blanco. At the half, Lago Vista scored 17 points and Blanco scored 2. In the second half, the Lady Vikings continued to work hard, leaving it all on the court. Their effort paid off and they ended up winning 34 to 10. Crosby Curtis had 16 points and 11 steals, Sophia Read had 14 points, and 8 steals, and Olivia Vincent had 2 points and 4 steals, and Maya Ramsey had 2 points and 3 steals. Morgan Burke and Pauline D'Ogny also contributed greatly on defense with 2 steals each. Great job, Lady Vikings!!
The boys teams lost 3 out of 4 in Jarrell, and details are coming soon!
