The Untold Holocaust

What you didnt learn or didnt know about the Holocaust.

Introduction:

There is a lot more to learn about the Holocaust than what is originally taught.I think it is important to learn more about the Holocaust because it is something big that happened in history.I still wonder about a lot of things about what it was like to be in the camps and what they had to go through.That's why i have found information telling things that not everyone has learned about.

3 Supporting Points:


-Starting with one of the biggest things most people don't even know what the word holocaust actually means.It is Greek for "holo-kaustos" which means whole burning.It refers to a sacrifice of an animal in which the animal is completely burned.It is also sometimes known as the "Shoah" which means Destruction.


-Many people think that only jewsin germany were killed during the holocaust while out of the estimated 11 million people killed, only 6 million of those were jews.The other five million people killed were from country such as Russia, Hungary, France, Ukraine, etc.


-Another thing a lot of people don't know is that there were actually separate concentration camps in South Africa set up for African Americans in which they were tortured and then massacred.Thousands of African Americans died.

Thesis Statement:

I think this topic is one of the most important things to learn about or investigate because it is something that happened that really affected the world In many ways.Three things that i think should be learned about the holocaust are, what the world holocaust actually means,in which countries jews were killed, and where the concentration camps were located.
