Bandera vs. Liberty Hill – February 25th (Playoffs)
The Bulldogs took on the Liberty Hill Panthers in the 1st round of the UIL State Playoffs at Johnson City High School. Liberty Hill entered the game as champions of their district and defending state champion runner-ups from last season, while the Bulldogs entered the game days after defeating Canyon Lake for the 4th and final playoff spot.
In the 1st quarter, the Panthers defense took over and smothered the Bulldogs offense with full court pressure and forcing them to take tough shot attempts. The Bulldogs were finally able to get some offense going as they scored 14 points in the quarter, but were still outscored in the half to trail, 15-56 going into the break. The 2nd half was no different than the 1st as the Panthers continued to pressure the Bulldogs defensively throughout the game, making every pass and shot attempt difficult. The 4thquarter belonged to Bulldog Seniors, Taylor Brown, Kyle Corbin, and Solomon MacNeil as they played the majority of the period, with it being the last time they would be participating in high school basketball at Bandera. In the end, the Bulldogs were unable to match the physical and fundamental play of Liberty Hill as they were defeated 101-42. With that loss, the Bulldogs memorable season came to an end, getting to a place that not very many saw happening.
Box Score: Trace Decker 10, Tyler Moore 10, Liam Demarchi 10, Kyle Corbin 7, Ryan Decker 5
