NTZB Parent Bulletin
October 9, 2023
Hello New Tech Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well-adjusted to the new school year! I want to thank all our parents who participated in our Parent-Teacher conferences two weeks ago. It was wonderful to see the building filled with parents, teachers, and students. I strongly believe schools are in partnership with families when it comes to the education of our students and together, we can ensure our young people experience high levels of academic and social success. If you were not able to stop by conferences and have concerns about grades or student progress, please use our staff directory on the website to reach out to those individual teachers to schedule a conference.
Extracurricular activities are strongly encouraged for our students. With the start of afterschool activities, it is important to note that we will now run an Activity Bus for any student staying after dismissal, departing New Tech at 3:25 every day. After Hours Tutoring opened last week and ALL students are welcome and encouraged to stay after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in rooms 205 and 207 to get extra help.
The District Assessment Day will be Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Freshman, sophomore, and junior students will be testing until dismissal at 11:30, and senior students will NOT be in attendance that day. More information can be found on the New Tech website. This week is Homecoming with weekend activities beginning on Friday, October 13 with the Homecoming Pep Assembly. All students will be dismissed at 12:26 to attend the assembly or they may go directly home. Please see the information on the website for more details. Again, I look forward to creating more great days for our students and staff!
In partnership,
Bonnie Felske

TECHNOLOGY TIDBIT
October 2023
Kindly remind your student to ensure their device is fully charged before coming to school each day. We've noticed a significant number of students arriving without their devices being charged for the day. We recommend that each student brings their own charger, labeled with their name, to school as a precautionary measure. This way, they can utilize our charging stations located in the cafeteria or library if needed.

"INTERACT"-ING WITH THE COMMUNITY
Interact Club was well represented at The Rotary Golf Outing (23rd Annual Jack McElmurry Memorial Golf Outing) this year. Rotary was thrilled with the results of the golf outing; seeing Interactors get into action volunteering for multiple events along with selling raffle tickets. The weather was perfect, the fellowship was grand and the Interact Club was outstanding in supporting the community. Interact Club students in attendance include: Tristan B., Amy B., Kingsley B., Bryan D., Juan G., Anthony G., Michael H., Israel H., and Za'Nya R.
