Community-Wide Announcements & Reminders
OPEN HOUSE
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and guardians who came to Open House last night. We are also grateful for our teachers for offering up a warm welcome at the end of a busy day. We are always eager to engage and partner with families and showcase the great things happening in classrooms across the school. Thank you for your time and for trusting us with your child's education. In case you were not able to attend, you can find the slides from the administration presentation here. We look forward to seeing you back in the building in November for parent-teacher conferences!

School Highlights
CONSTRUCTION CAREER DAY - SEPTEMBER 28
Members from Student Services accompanied a group of students to the NH Construction Career Days at the New Boston Fairgrounds on September 28th. Students had the opportunity to explore possible career paths in both the construction and transportation industries through hands-on exhibits and educational resources. Students operated heavy equipment, had a chance to try welding, and check out several other options in the trades.
CLUB DAY
This afternoon we held our annual Club Day! This day is a chance for our students to see what co/extracurricular activities are available. Students, didn't see anything that interests you? Talk to Kelli Braley or Tony Ramos in Athletics to propose a new idea!

The senior class hike is Wednesday, October 18th! There is no cost to seniors, and lunch is provided. Bring your own water, snacks, and appropriate-for-hiking clothing. We will leave school that day at 8:00 (so you have to get up a little earlier!) and be back around 1:30. What is your role at Souhegan?
Social Studies Teacher
How long have you been with Souhegan?
Currently in lucky year 13
What do you love about your job?
I really enjoy the thoughtful conversations that I have with students. They make me hopeful for the future. I also love seeing students thrive in their element. Whether it be while announcing for football and basketball; going to see students in a theater production; watching a band/chorus concert; witnessing students use their voice for action in community council; or attending another one of the many activities students participate in, I am always impressed by the talent we have here at Souhegan.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I have recently picked up the newest sport sweeping the nation... pickleball! My highlight of the summer was playing in a tournament at Fenway Park. I also enjoy travel, finding new and interesting restaurants, cooking, reading, board games, and spending time with my family and friends.
If you were given one wish what would it be?
I would wish that everyone would follow a twist on “the golden rule” in that everyone is treated the way they prefer to be treated.
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?
You never know what someone else is going through. Asking “What’s going on?” or “How can I help?” goes much further than blame or assumption.
Community Council
This week at Community Council, we began discussing our first proposal, the Referendum Proposal, which seeks to create a process for allowing whole school votes on proposals brought to Community Council. We will continue discussing this proposal at our next meeting on Tuesday, 10/10 from 3:05 to 3:45 in the Info Center.
