Morning Carpool Reminder:
Students must remain in vehicles until 7:20, unless the students are going to morning care in the lower school library. Children cannot roam campus unsupervised!

Math
Chapter 2: Multiplication Facts and Strategies
- Multiply by: 2, 5, 10, 0, 1
- Use the distributive property to multiply (using smaller facts to help with larger facts)
- Problem solving with multiplication
*Please check the blue math folder each night to review the day's work. This can be very helpful during homework time.
*Keep up the great work on Fast Facts!
*In addition to fast facts, students will be learning skills to multiply by specific factors.
Once we teach these skills in class, we will ask students to begin memorizing those facts.
This week, we will send home flashcards in the blue math folder for the x1 facts and the x0 facts.
Social Studies
Unit 2: Geography
This week, students will locate Alabama and our surrounding states on the map of The United States.
They will also learn about the 5 regions of The United States.
Please study vocabulary nightly!
Reading
Cause and Effect
Students will continue to identify a chain of cause and effects in at least three events in length, showing how an effect can become a cause.
We will begin our novel, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.
Please be sure your child is reading 20 minutes each night for Accelerated Reader.
