A Message from the Principal
Hello Beech Families,
I missed being with your children and seeing you at arrival and dismissal this week. I look forward to being back in the building on Monday. This week we received many calls from families who have kept their children home due to COVID symptoms, exposure, or positive cases. We appreciate that families have taken symptoms seriously and are doing their part to limit exposure in our school community.
We are asking everyone to remain focused on doing our parts to prevent the spread of COVID at Beech.
- Ensure your child is wearing their mask each day (prior to exiting vehicles or entering the bus)
- Ensure you have back up masks for your children in case they break or lose the one they wear to school
- If your child or anyone in your home has symptoms of COVID-19 stay home and follow up with a medical provider. Contact the school as soon as you find out.
- Remind children to keep their hands to themselves and that if they are not eating they should have their mask on during breakfast and lunch
- If you receive a call from school regarding possibly exposure or your child exhibiting symptoms please do your best to come to school immediately to pick your child up.
Thank you for your continued support with these items!

A.L.I.C.E. Lockdown Drills
A.L.I.C.E training is the number 1 active shooter preparedness solution for organizations across education, business, and healthcare. It is a 5-step procedure to keep us safe in an emergency situation.
A - Alert
L - Lockdown
I - Inform
C - Counter
E - Evacuate
The main objective of this program is to provide students and staff with OPTIONS to increase their chance of survival during an active shooter or active threat emergency. Students were led through the training using age appropriate lesson plans.
Please speak to your child about the training they received this week and reach out to us if you have any questions.
Get Rollin' at the Beech Elementary Roller Skating Party!
On Friday, January 14th from 5:30-7:30 Beech families are invited to head over to Riverside Arena for skating, games, fitness, and fun for the entire family!
The cost is $8.00 per person! Additional Pizza slice and 12 oz drink is only $3.00!
Tickets are coming home!
It is cold outside!
If the real feel is above 10 degrees then students go outside for recess. The recess is 15 minutes long and during that time students who are not adequately bundled up will become cold. Please send your child to school each day with a coat, hat, gloves, and a scarf. If your family is in need of assistance for coats please reach out. We will do our best to support those who communicate with us.
Even if the weather is not warm enough to go out for recess students will still be going outside for arrival and dismissal. Please plan accordingly.

Early Pick-Up
Beginning Monday, September 20th, we will not be allowing early pick-up after 3:10. Please help us to be able to do our jobs and get to dismissal on time by following this expectation.
Student Birthday Celebrations
Beech does not allow for cupcakes, balloons, pizza, etc, to be brought in to celebrate student birthdays. We know that this could be disappointing for some children and for that we apologize. We have to monitor for food allergies and ensure that academic time is honored. Thank you for your support and understanding.
