Guidelines
Chi-Hi Student Services Department - December 2022
2023-2024 Course Scheduling
Students should keep the following points in mind:
- All course selections must be entered into the Academic Planner in Infinite Campus, including four alternates.
- Alternates should be listed in priority. (Alternate courses will be used in the event of a scheduling conflict, or if classes are full or not offered.)
- Course request worksheets have a Guide for Scheduling on the back that will help students choose courses needed for graduation.
- Pay close attention to prerequisites and read course descriptions.
- Consideration should be given to the student’s plans for after high school. (College and technical college requirements are available in the online course book.)
- Also, take into account rigor of schedule. (i.e., if taking multiple advanced level courses, consider the amount of out of class work along with after school commitments)
Students have until January 6 to input their course requests into Infinite Campus. Course applications for classes that require them are also due on January 6.

Applying to Colleges
Seniors, the time is now! To begin, students are encouraged to go to the website of the college of interest and become familiar with their entrance requirements as these can vary greatly. Colleges and universities that have an open admission policy will accept most high school graduates who apply. At the other end of the spectrum are those that are highly selective. If you are applying to a technical college, you will need to search for the requirements for that particular program as these requirements can also vary greatly. Application deadlines vary. Keep in mind that some selective schools have early action or early decision as early as mid-October. Some popular programs at technical colleges can fill quickly and may have waiting lists so it is in your best interest to apply early. For programs with a waiting list, the student must be “program ready” before they are eligible to be placed on the waiting list. Most applications can be found on the colleges’ website under “Admissions” or “Apply Now.” Allow yourself enough time so that supplemental materials (if required) can be submitted by the deadline as well, i.e. transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation, as these items can only be sent during business hours.
