Kindergarten Added To Recess
We recently added "Virtual Recess" to our schedule. After a successful few weeks with 1st - 8th grade we are now extending this opportunity to our amazing Kindergartners! We know that socializing, exercise, and FUN are very important to our students. Virtual recess is designed to help kids play, grow, and build lifelong healthy habits. During this time there will be a variety of games, activities, and questions to build community amongst our students. Students can join to play games, get some exercise, or join just to have lunch and chat with peers!
We meet Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays during our lunch period 11:15 - 11:50 am.
If you wish to join at any time please click the following link: Kinder &1st grade Recess Google Classroom. If you are having trouble accessing the link above please reach out to Mr.Jackson (sjackson143@cps.edu) or Coach Judd (mjudd@cps.edu) who will assist you.

GO CPS Deadline Extended
The pandemic has impacted every aspect of our school year, including the important process our students go through when choosing the school options that will best match their talents, interests, and abilities. So to ensure everyone has the time they need to make this important decision, we are extending the GoCPS application deadline from Friday, December 11, 2020 to Friday, January 8, 2021.
We hope that this added time will give students and families the opportunity they need to carefully consider the many school options that are available throughout the district. As a result of this extension, offers for the 2021-22 school year will come out slightly later than in years past, and we will provide an update with the exact date. In the meantime, we urge our students to look at all of their options, from their neighborhood schools to offerings in STEM, IB, world language, and selective-enrollment, among others, to determine which environment will best meet their needs.

Update on Peirce Solidarity Fund
Thank you to everyone for their support of the mutual aid fund that we started over the summer. To date, more than $20,000 in aid has been distributed. 39 families have benefited.
Families who have donated have received assistance, and families who have received assistance have vowed to donate as soon as they are in a position to do so. This shows a commitment to solidarity and mutual aid -- not just charity.
We are continuing to accept contributions as well as requests for assistance. You can find us on Venmo @PeirceSolidarityFund and on PayPal, at PeirceSolidarityFund@gmail.com. If you are in need, please email us at PeirceSolidarityFund@gmail.com (Spanish or English).
