Looking for some cool technology to use in your class?
Looking for some cool tools for your class?
We have schoolwide subscriptions to some really great classroom technology. If you are interested in using one of these tools in your classroom, Melissa would be excited to help you get started:
Voicethread
Voicethread is a tool that allows the user to upload a series of images or video and then provides a platform for others to comment using text, audio, or video.
Teachers can use it to create annotated slideshows with voiceover for delivering content, or can create a space for students to comment on images, text, or video files.
Students can use it to create projects in which they create annotated slideshows with voiceover or collaborative comments.
Voicethread is integrated with Canvas so users can access our account, create assignments, and complete voicethreads all within the canvas interface.

Turnitin.com
Turnitin.com is a service that analyzes student writing.
Teachers can use it to check student essays for plagiarism. The database checks student work against work published on the internet as well as against other essays in turnitin.
Students can use it to learn more about plagiarism. There is also an integrated grammar/syntax checking software that students can use to help proofread their writing before submitting a final version.
Turnitin.com is integrated with Canvas, and if you collect student essays through Canvas, you can automatically check work for originality. If you don’t collect student work through Canvas, you can still use our school’s subscription by uploading student work to the site.
Learn more about it here.
Storyboard That!
Storyboard That is a graphic creation tool that allows teachers or students to create comic strips.
Teachers can use it to create graphics for delivering content.
Students can use it to show what they’ve learned. The school subscription gives students and teachers access to the premium features of the program and allows teachers to create classrooms to help organize assignments.
