HINT: Are you/your student a transfer?

Even if you/your student attended another K12 school and transferred to Insight (from CAVA, IQ or other K12 school) you are still considered a "new" student or learning coach.

You will need to:

  • Create NEW LC/Parent and student accounts for the OLS (Online School)
  • Attend the mandatory Strong Start Orientation and Walk to Class Orientation

Strong Start Orientation Dates and Times

Learning Coaches (and students too) choose one session and put it on your personal
calendar. You do not need to sign up or RSVP, as long as you attend a session before school

starts, we will record your attendance at the session. The session is held in Zoom, which means you can access the orientation from a computer, tablet, or phone.

A few minutes prior to the start of your chosen session click on this link:

Understanding Orientations: Strong Start vs. Walk to Class

There are two parts to the Orientations at Insight:

The Strong Start Orientation (SSO) is just that, an overview of getting started and ensuring you
and your student have a strong start at Insight. This is geared for the Learning Coach/Parent
and is attended in one session prior to the start of the school year (students are welcome and
encouraged to attend too). During the Strong Start Orientation, you will be given an overview of
Insight and will have an opportunity to ask questions and ensure you and your student are

prepared for the fist day of school. Please be sure you have completed all items on the New Student Checklist prior to attending Strong Start Orientation. You can find the link for the checklist in step 2 above or at the bottom of this newsletter.

The second part of orientation refers to your student attending the mandatory Walk To Class
Orientations (W2CO) during the first week of school
. This will go more in depth about the ins-and-outs of how to attend our school, and again is just for the student. We will cover things like, how to attend live sessions, take quizzes, submit assignments and check grades, plus much more. Your student will find that the Walk to Class Orientation sessions are already on their schedule, on the first day of school, within their Online High School Platform (OLS).
