Dear Parents, Caregivers and Students
PTA and Fundraising
At our recent PTA meeting we were discussing the next major redevelopment project in the school and how the money raised at the wonderful events this year and next will help contribute to this project. Our school-based team has been working with a playground designer to create practical and exciting outdoor spaces on our rooftop and patio, currently playgrounds for year 1-3. If you’ve been up there lately you’ll notice that these areas are old and tired and are ready for a revamp!
With this in mind, we will be working with ESF over the next few months to go through tender processes and to establish timeframes and budgetary requirements. During term 1 we will have design boards for you to see and we will be able to present the new concept of the playground design to you.
Whilst these areas will continue to be play areas for years 1-3, we are designing the spaces so that all students can use the modern areas throughout the day as part of classroom programmes. I will keep you posted as more information comes to hand.
Farewell for Ms Thompson our PE teacher
The PTA will be organising a coffee farewell for Ms Thompson on Friday 22 June at 8.30am. As you know Gay is returning to the UK after having taught with us for nearly 28 years! Please keep this morning free so you can pop in and say goodbye to Gay. She would love to see you there. More details and RSVP to follow in the next week.
The Shiu Family need our help!
Jennifer, Gavin and their girls have been part of our Glenealy family for years. Gavin (Dad) is an ex-Glenealy and KGV student, and daughters Felicity and Natalie are Glenealy alumni too. Jennifer (Mum) is a colleague of ours, currently teaching in a supply capacity in GS for 3 days per week and is also a valued supply teacher within the ESF community. Sadly Gavin is very unwell and the family are reaching out to all networks for support. Please see the flyer below for further information.
The KGV Alumni is organising a Donor Drive on 25th May (Friday) at the Causeway Bay Blood Donation Centre. Please join Jennifer and the Alumni team take action. Jennifer will be there from 6:30-8:30 pm. We hope you can help the family by joining this Donor Drive too.
