#10 Covid19 Notice
20 August 2021; Learning at Home Readiness Survey
Dear Parents, Whānau and Caregivers
We are all waiting to find out what happens today with the government announcements. Keep looking after yourself and our tamariki. Please let us know if there is anything we can help with.
What follows is a quick update to let you know where we are at with our preparations for learning at home during Alert Level 4. We are taking daily guidance from the Ministry of Education and like you, we are closely following the MOH briefings which will also guide our next steps.
Learning at home survey - open now
Please fill out the survey to help the school finalise arrangements for operating under Alert Level 3 and 4 conditions. Like you we are waiting to hear what the next government announcement will be. We want to be as ready as we can be for what might come next. Therefore this survey is to help us find out more about each family's capability for learning at home.
A reminder about Level 3: The school is open for children of essential workers only. The key message is that if you can, keep your child at home. If there is a parent or caregiver available to look after children at home, children are to stay at home.
A reminder about Level 4: The school is closed to everyone, including staff. Learning at Home programmes will be available from Monday 23 August if needed. Whilst our school has tools to facilitate online learning or provide suggestions for other activities, this is only practical should students be in a position to learn from home by having internet access, available devices, and the ability to be supervised at home. So please let us know about your family situation. MOH and MOE have provided clear guidelines for how staff are to safely distribute devices to local families.
Paparangi has a limited number of chromebooks to loan to students. We will be in further contact about the conditions for borrowing a chromebook with the families who may need to borrow a device.
The survey closes at midday on Saturday 21 August. All families MUST submit a response. If your children are in different teams please fill out a different form per child. If they are in the same team, add their names together on the same form. Thank you for your support in gathering this information.
Go the green button or go to https://forms.gle/SbDCDitzkAWzKfsC6 to complete the survey.

General Information
Schools are closed until further notice, including playgrounds and fields. If you are out walking, please stay away from school.
For families new to Paparangi School (we have over 40 new families so far this year) please check in with your child's home class teacher if you have any wonderings at all. We are here to help.
We will continue to communicate with you over the coming days. Please, stay home, stay safe and hopefully we will be able to return to a lesser alert level quickly. Our focus as always is to support the learning, safety and wellbeing of our tamariki and staff and we continue to be here to support all our parents as well. Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or me, if there is something you need assistance with.
