What was the Change?
A Major change in European thought, starting in the mid-1500's, in which the study of the natural world began to be characterized by careful observation and the questioning of accepted beliefs
Who were the people associated with the change?
Nicolaus Copernicus
He was a Polish Astronomer who proposed that the planet has the sun fixed. He wrote a book later on called the Commentraiolus ("Little commentary"). It was publish after his death in 1543.
Galileo Galilei
He was an Italian Philosopher. He made important contributions to the sciences of motion, astronomy, and strength of materials.
Issac Newton
Created a law of motion, relations between the forces action on a body. He made 3 law of states. The first law of state was if you stand still on a skateboard at a constant speed. You will continue to move at a constant speed no matter if you are standing still. The Second Law is a quantative description of the changes that a force can produce on the motion of a body. The Third Law is when two bodies interact both apply the magnitude and direction to the force equally.
How did the change impact society at the time?
Planet and Sun(Nicolaus)
He Proposed that the Planet has the Sun Fixed.
Galileo Lens
He used this lens to discover Jupiter. Then later broken by himself.
Newtons 1st Law
If you sit on a skateboard at a constant speed on a flat land you continue to move even though you are still.
Newtons 2nd Law
Rate of change in body equals in magnitude and direction to the force imposed on it.
Newtons Third Law
When two bodies interact both apply the magnitude and direction of force equally.
Newton's Cradle
Sir Issac Newton changed society by developing calculus to use for mathematics. He had created formulas to work on curved objects that led to breakthroughs of the last two centuries.
Galileo Telescope
He went against the church proposing that the Earth wasn't in the center of the universe it was the sun. He built the very 1st telescope to discover about Saturn and many other large moons and figure the Earth is similar to Jupiter.
Nicolaus Independence
He influenced the society by spreading the intellectual independence. How you ask? Well he provoked the church by asking Galileo to question the churches power in science.
