What do students need for Field Day?
A plastic or disposable water bottle to refill throughout the day.
Change of clothes and a towel
Tennis shoes or water shoes (NO “slides”, flip flops, or open toe shoes).
Students will NOT BE ALLOWED to participate in activities without the proper shoes.
Students are encouraged to wear “old” or “play” shoes because they will get wet and dirty.
All students should plan to wear shorts and a bright colored shirt.
There will be water stations so shirts and clothes could be damaged or ruined.
If girls chose to wear bathing suits, the MUST be worn UNDER their shorts and shirts.
Students must abide by the CMS dress code regulations.
Please apply sunscreen BEFORE school as teachers are not allowed to apply sunscreen.

EOG Proctors Needed!!
Proctors are needed for End of Grade (EOG) Testing @ Parkside
Volunteer and your child could win!!!
Volunteers that sign up AND proctor, your child could win a bike, a pair of tennis shoes for the summer, AMC movie passes, etc. Anyone 18 and over and not enrolled in a CMS school is able to go through the volunteer process and serve as a proctor. Please click on the link for details and to sign up.
Proctor Requirements: Attend proctor training, wear comfortable clothes and quiet shoes, no electronic devices permitted in the test setting, plan to be available from 7:45-12:00 on the day you volunteer to proctor.

Movie Night!! Sing....
This featured event will be held in the multipurpose room. Pizza, popcorn and drinks will be served. Students don’t forget to wear your pajamas and bring your sleeping bags!

Literacy
We are continuing to work diligently in small groups on weaknesses as defined by the Mock EOG. Please ask your child what skills they are working on.
Math
Science
This week in Science, we finished our unit on Body Systems. This Friday, we will begin our unit on Genetics. This will focus on the difference between inherited traits and learned behaviors. The Genetics vocabulary list can now be found on Google Science Classroom.
Here are some dates you need to know:
- Friday, May 19- Vocabulary Test on Genetics
- Monday, May 22- Unit Test on Genetics
- After that we will begin reviewing all our units from the year for our Science EOG on June 2nd.
I will be placing all of the vocabulary lists from the entire year in their Google Science Classroom. I would suggest that students create flash cards to practice their vocabulary. This will help them do well on their Science EOG. Quizlet is a great tool for making online flashcards. This is the website link:
