The exisiting problem in Ocean City MD currently is urbanization of these fragile islands may actually enhance their inherent instability by interrupting the natural storage and flow of sand in and around the islands. To solve this problem, the most practical and efficient method to protect the island would be to widen the beach and create an artificial dune, with sand dredged from shoals located within state waters. This solution will help prevent erosion from enters the bodies of water.
