Butterflies in 3rd Grade
Third grade has been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We have been able to experience the life cycle in our classrooms watching Painted Lady caterpillars grow to create their chrysalis and then transform into these Painted Lady butterflies.
Fall Party Costume Information
Dear Indian Creek Families,
You may be aware of conversation in the nation and in our community about the appearance of clowns and their alleged threat of violence. I want to assure you that while we take all threats very seriously in the district and in our schools, any rumors of local Olathe schools being impacted in any way are unfounded. The safety and security of our students and staff is our first priority and we are committed to providing our parents with the most updated information should there be an issue. Please visit with your children and let them know that any joking, teasing, and/or threats about clowns will be taken very seriously given the national media attention and potential disruption to our school environments.
In light of this we ask that you refrain from allowing your child to dress as a clown during our fall parties and the parade. In addition, please remember that any child choosing to dress up for fall parties and the costume parade should not wear anything that includes blood or guts or anything violent in nature or reference. Our goal is to provide a fun and positive fall party experience for all students choosing to participate. Thank you for your help in ensuring that our parties, and the costumes are school appropriate and positive in nature
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Dr. Liz Harrison

Veteran's Day 2016
On Thursday, November 10th the Indian Creek Special Chorus will be presenting a concert honoring America’s veterans. Performance times are 3:00 and 6:30. We would like to make this very personal by having a slideshow of veterans belonging to our own Indian Creek family! If you have a relative who has served in the military, please email a picture of them (in uniform, if possible, but it doesn’t have to be) to the following address: vmagnusonic@olatheschools.org. Be sure to include the person’s name, which Indian Creek member they belong to and what branch of the military they served. The deadline for these pictures is November 1st. Thank you for helping to make this Veterans Day celebration special.
School Doors Open at 8:00 am
Students will not be able to enter the building prior to 8:00 am this coming school year. The front doors will remain locked until 8:00 as, due to budget constraints, we will not have staff to supervise students prior to 8:00 am. Students arriving at school before 8:00 will not be supervised by school staff.
