Staffing Change

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, we welcome back Ms. Sarah Green to the Kindergarten classroom. You may remember that Ms. Green was apart of the Centreville staff a few years ago, supporting Ms. Whiteside in the role of Early Child Educator. The students and staff are excited for her return! Welcome back, Ms. Green!

We would like to take this opportunity to send a BIG thank-you to Ms. Sarah Neal, ECE, who supported the kindergarten class while this transition took place. Thank-you, Ms. Neal!

Update on Before/After School Care for 2023-24

There was sufficient interest by parents/guardians to the survey we conducted in December to move forward with the next step in providing Before/After school child care beginning September 2023. Limestone DSB has issued a Request for Service to the local daycare providers. If there is a favourable response from at least one of these providers, then we move ahead. We will update families as information becomes available.

Boys Basketball Tournament Tuesday, February 21, 2023

Please be at the Queen's University - Bartlett & Ross Gymnasiums by 9:00 AM for our first game at 9:30 AM. Parents should plan to pick students up at approximately 1:30 PM-2:30PM. If there is inclement weather, please check the LESSA website and Mr. Clapp's classroom Twitter account for updates.

Next Year School Calendar

Planning for the next school year has begun and the Limestone District School Board is seeking feedback from families on the proposed 2023-2024 school-year calendar.

The calendar is prepared in consultation with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board stakeholders, as we share busing.

Families in our district are invited to take a few minutes to provide input via an online survey. If families would prefer a paper version of the survey, please contact your school and a hard copy will be provided. 2023-2024 School Year Calendar Survey

The survey is open for responses until February 21, 2023.

Your input is important to us, and we appreciate your time in submitting your comments.

Kindergarten Registration for September 2023

Kindergarten offers a wonderful new world of learning and growing. We learn how to read, how to write and we make new friends. Our educator teams help us along the way. Do you have a 4- or 5-year-old ready for school this September? We are now accepting registrations at https://bit.ly/Kinder_2023

Limestone Kindergarten programs, offered in both French Immersion and English, aim to nurture the whole child. The Kindergarten program allows children to develop emotionally, socially and physically: to grow creatively, and to engage in rich oral language opportunities and celebrate their learning.

Transition to Kindergarten: Supporting students with special education needs

If your student has special education needs and will be entering school for the first time this September 2023, you may wish to participate in the T2K Parent & Family Virtual Workshop Thursday, March 1 from 9:30 am. – 12:00 p.m. The workshop provides families with information and resources to help prepare their child for the transition to school. Effective advocacy for your student, a peek inside a Kinder classroom, as well as parents’ perspectives on school transition and planning tips will all be discussed. And there will be lots of time for questions after the presentations. This meeting will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. For more information contact the school, or visit https://bit.ly/T2K2023
