Lake Oswego, Oregon, June 18, 2019 -- Superintendent Lora de la Cruz is pleased to announce the hiring of Noah Hurd for the position of Assistant Principal of Lakeridge High School. He joins Principal Desiree Fisher and Assistant Principal Kristen Colyer as part of the leadership team for the school.
“Noah will be a fantastic addition to our administrative team and our Pacer Family,” said Principal Desiree Fisher. “His equity work with North Clackamas will mesh well with the work we have already begun at LOSD. His heart for students and teachers is what makes Noah the perfect person for the job here at Lakeridge. We are so lucky he will be a part of our school,” Fisher said.
Since 2013, Hurd has been the principal for New Urban High School in the North Clackamas School District. He has extensive experience in peer mediation, restorative practices, equity awareness competencies, trauma-informed practices, and making connections with his school community.
Prior to his work in New Urban High School, Hurd held the position of Coordinator for English Language Learners, Dean of Students, and English Language Development Specialist and teacher. He has taught in Jamaica, the Bronx, Mexico City, and the Portland Area.
Hurd received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Whitworth University and his Master of Arts in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Hurd lives in Portland with his partner Ali and their four children–Avila, Kailea, Zannah, and Coral. They love to surf, hike and camp.
Hurd will begin his new position on July 1, 2019.
