A Message from Mr. Finkle
It's hard to believe that the last day of the second marking is tomorrow. We are almost at the midpoint of the school year. Quarter 2 grades will be available on the Parent Portal on Wednesday, January 30th. The Principal List's breakfast will be held on Wednesday, February 6th! Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teachers, Guidance Counselor or Assistant Principal with questions or concerns.
Since half the school year is almost completed, we are beginning to finalize our plans for the end-of-the-year events. We must submit the Class of 2019 list to the diploma manufacturer by mid-February. A letter was sent home to seniors who have not completed a Diploma Form in Family ID. If you received a letter, please complete, sign and return the letter to me as soon as possible. Graduation Cap and Gown measurements for all seniors will be held on Wednesday, February 13th at 6pm in the cafeteria. A meeting for the parents of the seniors going to Disney will be held immediately after Gap and Gown measurements at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center. Please mark your calendars!
The Delran MS/HS PTA is selling personalized yard signs for any 2019 graduate for both 12th and 8th grades. Detailed information and ordering instructions are posted below in the PTA News section.
As scheduling continues, please be reminded that the last day to submit a Scheduling Waiver Form for academic courses is Thursday, February 28th. There will be no exceptions to this date. All the necessary information is posted on our website and in the Virtual Backpack.

SAT/ACT Prep Class at DHS
A testimonial from a DHS parent: My son, as well as my husband and I, could not be more pleased with the program as well as appreciative of Mr. Jain's commitment to student success. At the College Night presented by the Guidance Department, I wanted so much to encourage other families to have their children enroll in this program. Due to conflicts, my son had to postpone taking the SAT until a later month. The Staffs Prep instructor, Paras Jain, graciously allowed him to sit in on two additional classes this session to serve as a review before he takes this exam.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Staffs Prep orgainization at contact@staffsprep.com.

Robotics! The Bionic Bears competitions grow closer. Our two VEX teams are working on the "Turning Point" competition this year. The first competition event will be held on Saturday, February 2nd in Millville, NJ. The students continue to work on the practice field set-up, writing code that gets a robot to take action, and designing and building for the new challenges. Good luck Bionic Bears!
DHS Science Fair! Our Science Fair is slated for Tuesday, February 19th. This year, we are anticipating over 60 project entries, thanks to a new course offering called Physical Science. The regional Coriell Science Fair will be hosted on Saturday, March 23rd at the Camden County Community College Campus in Blackwood. ATHLETIC NEWS
Mr. Guidotti's Update
Delran High School has witnessed several exciting moments during the Winter season, and we still have an entire month to go. The swim team had their senior night against NBC this past Friday. We are so proud of the hard work that the seniors show during practices and meets. This past Saturday, the students who are new to high school swimming got a chance to compete against other novice swimmers from other districts at the Hess Aquatic Center in Mays Landing, NJ. This event helped to build confidence and expose these students to other students at their ability level. On Sunday, the Lady Bears of the swim team got to compete in the Girls Rule Meet at Rowan University. This was a female only meet for teams that are classified as co-ed. The Lady Bears did a great job and many of them achieved personal best times. The swim team will be competing in the South Jersey Coaches Invitational this Saturday at GCIT.
The wrestling team continues to excel at the dual meets on their schedule. Their record is 15-6. Delran's last division match is home against Bordentown on Wednesday, January 30th. That match will be Senior Night and hopefully, it will be a victory that gives them the division title for 2019.
The bowling team has been in several competitive matches this season. Their scores are improving consistently and the students are enjoying their time together. Their next match is Monday, January 28th at the Burlington Bowling and Recreation Center on Route 130 against Burlington Township.
The girls' basketball team continues to improve with each practice and game. The Lady Bears are competing at a high level and the offense is improving every day. The next game for the Lady Bears is Friday, January 25th at Northern Burlington.
The boys' basketball team is currently 10-4 and playing at an impressive level. The boys are working really hard and giving teams problems with their intense defense. Their next home game is Friday, January 25th against STEM Civics.
Mark your calendars! Delran wrestling will be hosting Districts on Saturday, February 16th for the first time in school history. More information to come as we approach the date.
Having trouble getting to Delran High School winter events? Subscribe to the Delran page on www.nfhsnetwork.com. Once you have subscribed, you can watch all basketball games and wrestling matches from the comfort of your home. The subscription is $10.00 a month or $40.00 for the entire Winter season. If you cannot watch the games live, they become on-demand options a few hours after the contest. If you have more questions, please contact the Director of Athletics.
The FamilyID registration is currently open for anyone interested in playing a spring sport. The deadline to register is Friday, February 15th. Please use the same login information for Spring sport registration that you used to register your child as a student at Delran High School. If you are having any issues with registration, please do not hesitate to contact the main office with your questions. Please submit all new physicals to the main office as soon as they are completed by a licensed physician. All physicals must be approved by the district approved school physician before a student can participate.
