Husky Happenings

April 5 - 9

From Mr. Martin

Please complete a parent survey. MTSS parent survey (link)

Be aware our schedule is beginning to return to normal. We really have a full day of activities on Monday. As we head into April you will see several assessments begin. MAP and KSA will begin this month. We will wrap up assessment with Acadiance testing in early May. Each test provides the following data.

MAP (Measure of Academic Progress)--This is an individual measure of student success that occurs three times a year. A great way to chart progress and does provide national norms. Norms give you the ability to chart your students progress related to students nationwide.

KSA (Kansas State Assessment)--State assessment tool that looks at statewide standards. It is a good tool to evaluate our curriculum and measure our students success in mastering these skills.

Acadiance--This is a reading assessment tool that helps to target reading deficits and plan for our tier instruction.

IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION

When deciding if your student is able to attend school, please keep the following in mind. If your student has one primary or two secondary symptoms of covid-19, they need to remain at home. If your student has tested for covid-19 and are waiting on their results, they need to remain at home. If someone in the home has tested positive for covid-19, your student needs to remain at home. If they have been a close contact of someone who has tested positive for covid-19, even if that person does not live in the home, then your student needs to remain at home.

If one of these is your situation, please call and let us know. We will provide further guidance at that time. We appreciate your help and support in our endeavor to provide a healthy school environment for our students and staff.
