Parking Lot Arrival

I am sure you have noticed that we have many more young families this year that need to use the parking lot for arrival. Thank you for your patience as we work to fine tune our arrival procedures.

There are a couple of things you can do to help us out!

1. If ALL of your children are in grades 3-8, please use the alley for arrival and dismissal, and reserve the parking lot for those with children in grades PK-2 and their siblings.

2. If traffic is backing up onto Albany and the roundabout, please pull onto 16th street and begin a second line into the parking lot. Once you get to the area of the St. Vincent de Paul donation bin, please begin to merge ONE CAR at a time into the drop off line, where a staff member will be present to assist our young students. You should pull your car all the way up as far as you can before stopping to release your children. This allows more cars to enter the drop off line at a time. Please see the attached diagram for a visual!

Thank you for working with us to make our arrival procedures as efficient as possible!

Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship

Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship program was created in 2009 as a way to give families who meet income guidelines an opportunity to send their child to a participating private school. Through the generosity of Hoosiers, private donations are given as scholarships so students may attend a private school that may not have been an option to them otherwise.

The Institute for Quality Education (IQE) is the largest of six state-approved scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) in Indiana. Since the beginning of this program, SGOs have awarded over $45 million dollars in scholarships to more than 35,000 Hoosier students in partnership with more than 300 private schools statewide.

Without these important Tax Credit Scholarships, we have several families that would be unable to choose Holy Name for their children's education. This year we were blessed with the ability to award over $23,000 in scholarships to our Holy Name students. This is impossible without generous donors like you!

Individuals or businesses that donate to the SGO receive tax credits equal to 50% of the amount donated. Donate before the end of 2020 to receive this credit!

Offer Versus Serve Fact Sheet for Foodservice

Offer Versus Serve (OVS) is when students have the ability to decline a certain amount of items/components as they select their meal for breakfast and lunch.  OVS is required at lunch for grades 9-12. It is not required, but is allowable for grades K-8 at lunch and K-12 at breakfast.  Choices are not the same as OVS. Choices allow students to pick from a variety of entrée , vegetable, fruit, grain, and/or milk options to pick from when selecting their meal.  Choices can be offered whether implementing OVS or not implementing OVS.  As long as the student has the minimum required number of items on their tray including 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetable (or combination of both), staff may not tell students which items they have to take or decline for a reimbursable meal. For instance, students should not be required to take milk.  Foodservice cannot use OVS to accommodate a student with a special dietary need, such as a food allergy or intolerance. Students with dietary accommodations should have all items/components to decline as they select their meal, just as their fellow students.  OVS does not affect the meal’s unit price established by the School Food Authority. Students who take 3, 4, or 5 food components for lunch or 3 or more food items for breakfast pay the same price.
