Mr. Doyle's Message
Hope everyone had successful and positive Parent-Teacher Conferences. When it comes to a student's success, the connection between school and home is so important. As always, anytime you have a question or concern, never hesitate to reach out.
The end of the quarter is quickly approaching on Friday, October 14th. Please check with your students about any missing work or help they need for their classes. We want our students to have a strong finish to the quarter. Thank you for encouraging them to do their best, ask questions, and reach out for help if they need it.
We will be mailing home report cards the week of October 23rd. Included in that mailing will be the current MAP report from our fall assessment and IAR scores. More information will be included in next week's newsletter to help you interpret the report and your student's scores.
Enthusiastically,
Mr. Doyle
News from your CMS PTO!
Dear Creekside Parents,
We hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the school year. Last year, the PTO was able to fund some great school projects and events as well as supporting our teachers with replenishing school supplies during the third quarter and feeding them dinner while they worked long hours during conferences. But we were most proud to have been able to fund spirit wear shirts for every student at Creekside, as well as five picnic tables so students can enjoy their lunch periods outside.
We had our first PTO meeting for the 2022-2023 school year on September 12th. The purchase of organizational items was approved at the end of last school year for the Lost & Found area. The PTO will be purchasing these items this coming week to have a system in place as the weather starts to cool and kids start to lose their things (how do they lose one shoe?). Our intention is to keep the area organized so items can be easily recognized and accessible.
Regarding the near future, we are looking into shade canopies for the picnic area, new equipment for our life skills students, and hosting a Parent’s Night Out! Oh, and of course feeding our teachers during conferences.
The form that is included is a light-hearted, no stress approach to fundraising this year. We know some parents will love this “opt-out”, and some have kids that really like to fundraise for their school - we love those kids! Don’t worry, we are in the process of gathering information on other, more traditional, options for later on in the year.
If you would like to get involved with PTO, please visit the PTO section on the Creekside Middle School website. Thank you for all your continued support!
Sincerely,
Sarah Cain
