We Love the Winter Weather!
Welcome back to MJS! We hope you all had a great Christmas Break with family and friends. Wintery weather has come to Pasadena, and a steady stream of rain and cold temperatures are in the forecast for the entire week. Students may wear winter and rain gear, in keeping with uniform guidelines. All coats, jackets, sweaters, umbrellas, and other school items should be clearly marked with your student's name. Please allow enough time for morning carpool arrival, and possible rainy day dismissal for afternoon carpool. Many thanks!
Friday Field Trip: January 15
We are happily anticipating our Tree People field trip on Friday, January 15! We get to spend a glorious winter day with nature, exploring our Southern California environs, learn how to conserve our natural resources, and our roles as stewards of the environment. Please pack a waste-free lunch - containers, bags, and utensils that will not be disposed of. It will be a free-dress day with lots of outdoor activities in Coldwater Canyon Park.
Volunteers Needed: January 29
Mosaic Month is a beautiful celebration of the cultural diversity that exists in our community and we rely on our parent volunteers to help make it happen. The culminating event is the International Heritage Fair on Friday, January 29th. If you are interested in either creating a cultural table for the fair or in helping out behind the scenes, please contact Ms. Myvonwynn Hopton as soon as possible. Thank you!

Grandparents' & Special Friends' Day Coming Soon!
Please mark your calendars! It may seem early, but Mayfield’s annual Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day is right around the corner. We look forward to welcoming the ones we love on February 12, 2016. This is a special tradition, a day when Grandparents or Special Family Friends join students on campus for Mass and classroom activities. To insure we get an invitation to your child's special guest, please fill out the form here if this is your first year at MJS (or there are changes to the addresses from last year's invitation mailing).
Thank you,
Nicole Dixon & Tina Yates
