School Closure Update
Shifting To A Digital Platform
Covid-19
Technically we aren't closing the schools. We are shifting the learning platform to a digital delivery of instruction that students will access from home. We have been reaching out to families and assess needs at home to check accessibilities for technology. If you haven't been contacted please call 746-8400 between 7 am and 3:30 pm.
We are currently gearing up to check out laptops and collect learning materials for pick up this Thursday and Friday (keep a lookout for district notifications with schedules for pick up). The majority of the lessons will be done electronically. For many students and teachers, this will not be a change. Many classes already use Google Classroom as a blended learning platform in class, so this will be an easy transition.
Teachers and support staff will be developing lessons through the rest of this week and students will begin working from home next week. This will be a learning curve for all of us so I ask you to be patient and flexible as we enter into these new educational challenges.
I have great confidence in the teaching staff and students at Palmer High School and I know that we will get through this unprecedented time. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Mr. Reid
